Review of West Side Story (1961) by Jackson M — 07 Aug 2012
Wow, what a wonderful movie. I couldn't believe how beautiful this was. The sets, the lighting, the story, the characters, the choreography, the cinematography all top notch! It was a great rendition of modern Romeo and Juliet and It was entertaining.
The only things that I need to pick at is just I only liked about 3 or 4 songs. Also it bothered me how quickly Maria got over the death of her brother so damn quickly. She was crying and getting so emotional and then suddenly she acts like it never happened! It was a nit pick but other than that the movie is spectacular.
I just had a blast of incredible choreography and a powerful story telling of visual eye candy. This is eye candy that you just cannot stop loving though. Highly recommend if you want to see a spectacular film with the best choreography and cinematic techniques.
