Review of We Are Family (2010) by Sadaf M — 14 Sep 2010
Well, this flick is Stepmom with a Bollywood touch to it, so nothing new or fresh or creative about the plot and storyline.
The only reason I've given three stars is because I enjoyed the authentic, mature performances delivered by Kajol, Kareena Kapoor and of course, the very, very dishy Arjun Rampal!
I think the film would have done better if there were more Indian cultural references from which Indian audiences (both native and NRIs) could identify with. There was not any apart from the Diwali thing, which was clearly a replacement for the Christmas scene in the US version of the film.
Watch it when it comes on cable or DVD and don't if you don't want to spend the best part of the movie crying!
