Review of Waking Life (2001) by Bumblebee S — 22 Jan 2009
I really enjoyed this film, which delves into the mystery of lucid dreaming. I love lucid dreaming myself, and I have had some very interesting experiences so this was a film that immediately captivated my attention. For anyone interested in the subject, do some research! It was very easy for me to learn how to lucid dream, and it can be a great learning experience.
This film also is philosophical in nature, and the animation is quite enticing. As a viola player I enjoyed the bits with the classical music, and the sea of colors melting and swimming in the movie made for a trippy/beautiful experience that was for me reminiscent in aesthetic to What Dreams May Come....an ever changing, lovely painting with depth and candor.
