Saw Hammer's "Wake Wood" tonight and loved it. It's not quite as good as "Let Me In" but far better than "Beyond the Rave" and somewhat better than "The Resident.
" It recalls such 'classic' Hammer Horror as "The Witches," "Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell," and "Blood from the Mummy's Tomb." A really good script is accentuated by strong acting and nice direction, all of which overcome the handicap of an obviously low budget.
