Review of Voyage to the Planet of Prehistoric Women (1968) by Nate W — 08 Dec 2007
Bad B-movie that gets plenty of laughs on how terrible it is. One astronaut falls ill so the robot opens his helmet to feed him a pill. A pterodactyl, a god to the women of Venus, is made out of rubber foam. Some underwater sequences were obviously filmed with a fish tank between the actors and the camera. Script-wise, its laughable. The only trouble is, it gets tiring laughing at the movies badness after a while.
Reviewers here who think that this was a Soviet film that was cut with the Mamie van Doren footage added may be right: the timing and direction of the womens sequences differ remarkably from the astronauts (or cosmonauts).
