Review of Visitor Q (2001) by Lyon L — 06 Jun 2007
This was the first Takashi Miike film I ever saw, and I instantly fell in love with the movie and Miike as a director. This is not, like all Miike films, for those who are easily offended or are of weak constitution.
That said, sit back and watch this movie, don't try to actively decipher what's going on, because you'll end up confused, especially within the first thirty minutes. Miike's films generally work on a subconscious level, and while that may mean you have to watch a movie more than once to really appreciate it, it won't feel like a sacrifice of time to do so.
