Review of Vampire's Kiss (1989) by Nikki B — 18 Jul 2007
Now that I've finally managed to make myself finish this film, I can honestly say it's my favorite Nicolas Cage film. People don't always seem to understand it, and maybe that's why I appreciate it.
I have to admit that in a rare case, however, I was actually taken aback slightly by this film (which is a good thing), as the first hour and 15-20 minutes or so are just crazy times Nic Cage at his best, having loads of fun, but the last act is something very different, something much darker, the kind of ending that makes you wonder about things the same way that a film like Angel Heart does at it's conclusion.
Very strange, but absolutely fantastic in every way, and easily Cage's best performance (in my warped opinion).
