Review of Upstream Color (2013) by Bo B — 17 Aug 2013

This film isn't for everyone. I wouldn't even say it was meant for most people but if I were to say: 'Eraserhead in color' and that meant something positive to you; then you should see it.

The film is deliberately disjointed, confusing, bizarre, alarming, creepy and amusing. You'll find yourself scratching your head, checking the time (because there is so much confusion that your mind will be anxious for it to be over) and simultaneously you will dread when you know it will be over because then there will be no more to see. A true paradox.

Ultimately you just want it to start making sense at some point. I plan on watching it again to get two and two together and hoping it equals four this time. Chances are it will not but I'm interested in giving it a try. Any movie that makes you scratch your head that much is a gem in my book.
