Review of Uncle Drew (2018) by Chris G — 28 Jun 2018
Y'all young-bloods need to listen up, this here is a great movie. I believe this film has the best joke in cinematic history and only slightly going out of its way to do so. The acting wasn't great, but that was expected.
Kyrie, Robinson, Miller, Webber, and Shaq's performances added to the humor and absurdity of six elderly people tearing it up at Rucker park. If you came into the movie looking for anything to be plausible in real life, you came in thinking wrong.
Basketball is such an amazing sport, and this movie showcased its power often in extreme ways. The make up was decent. I could not recognize Nate Robinson (Boots) at all. It differed from character to character, but it was funny to see how much work was done to the other players in comparison to Shaq.
The movie flowed very well, not dwelling too long or too little on any aspect of the story. The music was great.
