Review of U2 3D (2008) by Frédéric D — 29 Feb 2008
After getting over the shock of paying £10 to see it, I was completely gob smacked by the film. The combination of the music, graphics and on stage camera work is outstanding. The old songs like Bullet The Blue Sky & Sunday Bloody Sunday make their new material pale into insignificance in comparison.
The 3D effects make you feel like you're simultaneously in the front row and right there on stage. Had to fight the urge to sing, shout, clap and cheer, it's very easy to forget you are in a cinema and not right there in the stadium.
The best live film I've ever seen.
