Review of Transylvania (2006) by Private U — 22 Nov 2007
Gatlif's camera is itself possessed of a wild, gypsy energy... you do get a sense of the region: its low-lying hills and irate bus drivers, its power plants and feral street kids, its purification rituals and snowy wastes, its pillow fights at the side of the road.
Snow and feathers - it's that kind of movie: scattered, but capable of sudden flurries of beauty.
