Review of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009) by Johnathon W — 18 Mar 2017

Lackluster sequel that improves on the good parts of the previous film (the action & the Transformers) but also expands on the bad parts (the crude humor & being too long). Michael Bay needs to learn how to cut a film under 2 hours, which could easily been done by excising numerous, annoying characters (John Turturro & the racist Transformer twins are obvious examples) and the crude humor has little place in the story (the joke about a part of Devastator's anatomy nearly ruins the character).

Thankfully, Bay is also a master of action & destruction (the forest battle and final scene in Egypt are standouts), and the visual effects are gorgeous. A good 2 hour movie, but it's unfortunately 2 & 1/2 hours.
