Review of Transamerica (2005) by Brian C — 30 Mar 2008
A fairly stunning achievement - on all levels: acting, directing, writing, costumes...Believable and heart-felt, humorous and touching, without being preachy about any of the normally taboo topics - gender assignment, drug use, hustling - it's about acceptance not moralizing.
Felicity Huffman is "true" in a role that, with a less gifted actress, might have devolved into a cartoonish caricature.
