Review of To the Wonder (2013) by Theodore F — 27 Apr 2013
Terrence Malick's film of a cross continental doomed marriage is a poetic, experiential spectacle of intimate moments and the anxiety of separation .The external environments (natural and man made) are given an uncommon level of focus, perhaps to an alienating extent for some audiences but the approach articulates a clear way of seeing toward immersive and subjective ends.
It can be felt how the characters internalize surroundings, serving to color (both ours and their) emotions and memory.
