Perhaps it is better to view To The Wonder? as an extension of The Tree of Life?'s themes, rather than hold it up to the other's impressive standard as a separate entity. Wonder is a naked look at the yearning for love of faith and faith of love.
Plus, as a bonus, you get a few sex scenes directed by Terrence Malick.
