Review of To the Sea (2010) by Colm M — 27 Mar 2011
A really evocative piece of dramatised documentary film making contrasting the totally different lifestyles of a little boys seperated parents. His mother is from Rome and his father, of mayan indian decent, is from Mexico.
Little Natan spends sometime with his father at sea off the coast of Mexico before he must return to Rome with his mother. A movie about a stunningly beautiful natural environment and how it helps to solidify the relationship between father and son before little Natan leaves for a life in Italy with his mother.
The movie makes no judgement on either parent but rather concentrates on the little boys growing confidence in a new environment and his growing bond with his loving father. Beautiful.
