Review of Thirteen Days (2000) by Vince A — 12 May 2013
Another one of my top ten films. Totally awesome. If a movie manages to build drama out of an event that already took place, you know they are doing something right. This is a no nonsense film that tries to educate in dramatic fashion.
Aside from Kevin Costner, a great cast with terrific performances. Bruce Greenwood is a terribly underrated actor. He's a very convincing JFK. Thankfully his strong performance cancels out Costner's weak one.
I can't speak to the historical accuracy of the film, but it has to be very close. It comes across as very authentic and balanced. It doesn't come across as an overly pro or con JFK film, which is a good thing.
