Review of Things We Lost in the Fire (2007) by Valérie L — 22 Apr 2009
Talk about a powerful tear jerker! This film took a raw look at the pain of loss and redemption. Benicio Del Toro was outstanding as a drug addict trying to get his life back together after losing his best friend.
I enjoyed Halle Barre's performance, but for me Del Toro should have won an oscar. The cinematography was outstanding -- every movement was captured saying volumes to me. A film hasn't spoken this loud to me in a very long time.
I was totally engrossed for two hours, and woke up thinking about it the next day - a sure winner for me!
