Review of They Made Me a Fugitive (1947) by Martin T — 24 Dec 2009
A cool Noir about a man who is framed for murder by drug smugglers and escapes from jail to clear his name. Its a gritty film for the time, and has a lot of very violent scenes towards woman. You can tell it came out right after WWII as there are many subtle references.
The dialogue is pretty great and it has some amazing lighting and camerawork for the time period. The story becomes a little confusing , but it might just be because of the damn brits all sounding and looking the same to me.
