Review of Thelma & Louise (1991) by Dutch W — 12 Mar 2011
Movies just don't get any better than this. Ridley Scott's culturally indelible road movie is often cited as an over-the-top feminist revenge fantasy, but that's a misreading of this film. T&L explores the struggle to break out of humdrum life through self actualization, not filling pre-determined roles.
I've seen few films that had such an impact on me. Sarandon and Davis bring these characters to life in such a way that few actors can accomplish. And the ending..... well, there is no ending to ANY movie, as good as this one.
If for some reason you've lived under a rock for the last twenty years, do yourself a favor and watch this.
