Review of The Wrong Missy (2020) by Dissenista — 20 May 2020
Rarely do you want to strangle the female lead in a movie unless she is the villain. Not so with “The Wrong Missy.” The “wrong” Missy (Lauren Lapkus) is so egregiously, teeth-grating, head-bangingly annoying that you’re ready to kill yourself or her within the first 20 minutes.
She gets better, but not much. At least David Spade, Vanilla Ice, and Rob Schneider were temporarily saved from the Hollywood “whatever happened to…?” dustbin with this project, but for how long? OK to see when: stoned, drunk, on heavy pain meds, hungry for low comedy, or just bored out of your mind and churlish about “Tiger King” being over.
