I miss Director's Label. Like, big time. They were like the Criterion of short-form media. Please, come back.
The 5 star rating applies to Spike Jonze, Mark Romanek and Chris Cunningham's sets too; however Gondry's set is probably my favorite. As much as I like his some of his feature stuff (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind,The Science of Sleep), I can't help but put his music videos on an equal pedestal. From his lo-fi "La Tour De Pise" video for Jean Francois Coen to his mini-masterpieces like Bjork's "Bachelorette", this compilation's got most of the good stuff, plus some of his best TV work like the awesome Polaroid ad "Resignation" and "Drugstore" for Levi's jeans.
If you enjoy music videos, yes.
