Review of The Wizard of Gore (1970) by Katie M — 20 Jan 2008
I bet HG lewis was thrilled to get some advertising in juno. if you didn't know lewis already, you definitely know him now. go diablo cody. anywho...the wizard of gore gave you exactly what you expected out of the considered gore master.
montag the magician conducts acts of death defying feats to young woman, and once they leave his show and arrive home the affects of the shows start over again. leaving there blood and guts spread everywhere, a tv reporter strives to find the truth.
with one of the best twist endings in horror cinema (finding out the reporter was the magician the whole time, and montag standing in a daze on stage), herschell gordon lewis delivers one of the most solid, creative, jaw dropping cult horror films of the 70's.
