Review of The Witch (2016) by Zachary M — 15 Apr 2017
Unlike most modern horror film, The Witch instead of jump scares and fake out dream sequences it decides to fill its run time with atmosphere and slow burning tension. It's something other horror films should really be taking notes on.
Any movie that can make a rabbit and a goat un-ironically chilling is doing a masterful job at building fear. Well-acted, well made, and representing what I hope is a new trend in competent horror movies.
