Review of The Waiting City (2010) by Lisa M — 09 Jul 2010
The first Australian feature shot in India, this certainly benefits visually from the locations - pic is aglow with rich, earthy colours. But pretty colours alone do not a great film make. The initial narrative is well set up and Mitchell and Edgerton do a good job to flesh out the two main protags, but just when the drama should really be kicking into another gear, things slide into dullsville and peter out to a whimper of a finale.
I'm not sure what I expected, but I'm still waiting.
