Review of The Signal (2014) by Dustin M — 19 May 2014
Just saw a pre-screen in Austin last night w/the director. This movie caught me by surprise, in a good way. The storytelling is very reminiscent of an old "Outer Limits" or "Twilight Zone" episode, but is beautifully and artistically shot and scored. Special effects are used sparingly, but are exceptionally well done, and the acting did a nice job of conveying emotion, but not overpowering the story as a whole.
Cult or otherwise, we have a true Sci-Fi classic on our hands.
