Review of The Seventh Victim (1943) by Aren B — 06 Jun 2010
"The Seventh Victim" may have some moments and characters of interest, but ultimately itâ??s devoid of any true tension or intrigue. For a film dealing with cults, itâ??s surprisingly not sinister, and for a B-movie, itâ??s surprisingly dull.
Its focus on character is somewhat refreshing for a typical 40s mystery, but the actors are unable to make the character moments compelling. I expect better from Val Lewton.
