Review of The Saddest Music in the World (2003) by C.j. A — 04 Jul 2006
Guy Maddin's phantasmagoric foray into the truly weird and wonderful defies classification. Its bewitching world, which encompasses glass legs full of beer, a talking tapeworm, and a jar filled with a boy's heart and his father's tears (you read it right), is at once ironic, mournful, and compassionate.
It will thrill you, enchant you, and make you go, "W T F.".
