Review of The Possession of Michael King (2014) by Chok S — 19 Sep 2014
Director and writer David Jung has just got himself a bright future in horror film industry right here. While the film here may not be a classic or a masterpiece but it got quite a refreshing concept, heart-pounding scares, and its own unique story that differentiated it from other typical exorcism films.
The SCARES here are mostly jumpy ones but it was done really well that will give you chills in couple of scenes. Also the found footage shots did add more creepiness to the film as well. The GORES here was not a blood-splashing one but it was disturbingly done well and effective enough.
Overall as it's David Jung's first film debut, he has done a really great job creating an intensely chilling yet smartly engaging horror film that will always be remembered as one of the better exorcism films out there [B].
