Yeah, this is some really, really nice animation. I think the plot is a little vague, the whole civil war mad science thing is never explained and doesn't really seem to influence the plot at all. Actually, all the antagonism is worthless and the characters motivations ends up being quite shallow.
Saying that, its odd that the film is so powerful and in the end enjoyable.
