My personal favorite film of all time... how can you not love a father in vengeance mode slaying convoys of British troops with a hatchet? It was emotionally violent, with a hint of reality around every corner.

The portrayal of the revolutionary war especially the mansion acre scene set a firm foundation and tight boundaries for other movies that followed this gripping revenge film. The Ghost with the hatchet was my first favorite hero, thank you Mel Gibson.

.. not for your reputation flaws and bad habits, but for movies like these that show your true genius.
