Review of The Patriot (2000) by Andy P — 30 May 2011
Quite possibly the best of the early aught generation. I can't believe the flak this movie has taken. It is so well put together and flows amazingly. Heath Ledger and Mel Gibson are a wondrous pair on-screen.
It is most definitely no overdramatic and I wanted it to keep going after the ending. The battle sequences are highly realistic and the humor isn't cheesy at all. It has the perfect balance of emotion and Emmerich really knew when to put certain scenes in at certain times.
Any person of that decade will say it is a classic because of its patriotism, motivation, and genius simplicity. It will soon be shown in all classrooms in the near future as a historical art piece.
