Review of The Original Kings of Comedy (2000) by Colin W — 17 Mar 2008
Anyone who knows me knows that I don't laugh easily. It's hard to watch this film again and again with the same excitement but I'm rating it on how I felt at the first time of watching. I have never ever laughed so hard for so long in a cinema.
Watching this on celluloid actually made you think you were in the audience. I almost died and went to heaven when Steve Harvey did his old skool section...I just found myself singing along. And the thing I really like about black Americans is that when they go to a comedy show (and I've seen a few) they really have a good time and it shows! These 4 comedians blew up the place, I came out of the cinema weak, belly-aching, lightheaded and sore throated.
One of the best ever cinema events for me which could only have been bettered by actually being at the live concert. An excellent night of entertainment captured by , you know who, Spike Lee!
