Review of The Mudge Boy (2003) by Jonas W — 07 Mar 2008
An excellent film. One of the things I like best is that it takes its time to tell the story--and ends in exactly the right place. There are some nice shots of solitary things in nature, which speaks so much to Duncan's plight.
The score is really good, too, and fits the movie very well. Some good acting and some very nice sets, too (even though they were in Vermont). The sadness of losing one's only friend--it happens three times here--is just too much to bear sometimes.
A beautiful film. I want to add that it is one of the only "gay" films I've ever seen that was well done--a nice change.
