Review of The Mark (2012) by Bill S — 09 Jun 2013
Another entry in the Christian end-times genre. Whether you believe or not, if the focus is on story and not just message, these can be fun action-adventure outings. Unfortunately, The Mark tries a bit to hard to deliver the message instead of letting it unfold throughout.
It is a bit uneven throughout especially in dialogue (again message vs story) and with the exception of the leads, the acting tends towards the amateur - noticeably and distractingly. Which is too bad because it does have a decent plot and Sheffer and Roberts definitely have the ability to pull it off.
I was glad to see a sequel coming, hopefully they can address some of the shortcomings. A bit tighter and it would have been a much better experience.
