I saw this at the Fantasy Film Fest 2007.There are very few movies which can make one uncomfortable, and sometimes the only really frightening horror comes not from monsters,blood, gore, violence,but from a reality.
I think only after "Misery" there hasn't been a film quite as disturbing as this one.And "Misery" was child's play in comparison to "The Living and the Dead".It's very hard to watch, because the acting,camera,colors,everything melts into one big depressing horror.
..which can hit everyone: age,total helplessness,depression,madness.I can't give it more than 4 stars,because there's nothing really enjoyable to watch...one experience was enough,still very recommendable.
