Not as technically accomplished as Tim Burtons masterpiece, but this preceded it by 20 years so they did not have the cgi or money to give this an A movie look. This is an enjoyable serviceable adaptation which is very atmospheric.
The picture is very washed out and it states DVD release date 1st Jan 1979, dvd's were not around at the time. Perhaps laserdisc?
