If you've ever seen "Space Cowboys", you'll realize pretty quickly that Gene Cernan is the guy Clint Eastwood's character was modeled after - except that Gene is smarter and more down-to-earth :-).
My wife and I THOROUGHLY enjoyed this movie.
On a side note, the movie does a very good job explaining how military spouses & families take a back-seat when duty calls (and calls, and calls), and how hard it can be to remain stateside/earthside during a mission...
