Review of The Lady in the Car with Glasses and a Gun (2015) by Phillip D — 30 Dec 2015
The Lady in the Car with Glasses and a Gun is a stylish, slick remake of the 1970's murder mystery thriller. The film is decidedly minimalist, choosing to revel on it's heroine and lovely period piece scenery while stringing the viewer on an interesting, if a bit slow, big twist ride.
The real star of the show is the relative newcomer Mavor, who delivers one of the better individual performances of the year as Dany. Her riveting complexion and intricate facial movements drive the film and this looks to be the beginning of a promising career.
Overall, the film is part of the 2015 clinic on how to create a focused, precise and goal oriented picture, certainly worth a watch or two.
