Review of The Kingdom of Dreams and Madness (2013) by Abe F — 02 Jan 2015
Akin to passion projects like Tim's Vermeer and Jiro Dreams of Sushi, Kingdom follows animation legend Hiyao Miyazaki as he works on his final film: The Wind Rises. Both an incredible expose into the often arduous process of animation, and a foray into the inner workings and surprisingly pessimistic nature of one of Japan's seminal directors.
Well worth a watch.
