I have never played Donkey Kong and have no interest in doing so. That being said this was an amazing movie out of the unlikely idea of a story to be found. Just watch it and you'll find at least one or more aspects of it worthwhile.
It's got it all from heartache, suspence, cheering for the underdog, strangeness, etc., etc. A surprise sleeper worth 5 stars.
