Review of The Killing of a Sacred Deer (2017) by Tyler A — 16 Nov 2017
Most powerful movie I have seen in a very long time. It made me feel how the original Ring did with its setting and its mood....however here you aren't quite sure what is actually wrong for quite some time.
This extra point makes the horror that much more under your skin and visceral. The performances from everyone is phenomenal, but the younger cast hit it out of the park especially. This is a film that sticks with you and the crew is hyper aware of the fact.
The lingering opening scene is the perfect setup to - 'this isn't going to be a normal popcorn movie'.
