Review of The Hunted (2014) by Darren G — 14 Dec 2014
The Hunted is about two men hunting in the woods filming the pilot for their to be hunting show. They're hunting exclusively on a newly attained plot of land, and soon find out that there's something sinister within it.
The Hunted contains likable & believable characters, and first time director & screenwriter Josh Stewart found a great way to incorporate the protagonist's family which gives us a reason to hope he comes out alive.
I'd say 85% of the movie is good character development with moments of tension and a few good scares, but then the ending falls a little short. The ending feels a bit amateur compared to the rest of the film and unsatisfying which I guess is a little understandable for a first time director.
As a whole The Hunted is pretty good especially as a modern horror flick, and if you like horror movies or Josh Stewarts' other works like The Collector that then I recommend to check it out.
