Review of The Hundred-Foot Journey (2014) by Kasper M — 20 Sep 2014
I loved this film and am sickened by some of the cynical top reviewers who panned it (I'm talking to you A.O. Scott from the NY Times). I had no issues with various things Scott pointed out as being problematic.
It's a charming movie that doesn't pretend to be anything other than what it is -- a simple story in a little village with some good cooking thrown in. Universal themes of family, love, overcoming huge obstacles, cultural differences that we soon learn ultimately bring people together, etc.
There's plenty here and it's a truly heart-warming story. Excellent!
