Review of The Gruesome Twosome (1967) by Private U — 28 Nov 2007
Another classic from Herschel Gordon Lewis. The acting is always completely atrocious but it's always very funny. He was the first person to make a death scene the punchline of a joke. Some people will really hate this movie and find it very irritating like most of his films, but if you can appreciate it as shock cinema, it's great.
Lewis always said that film isn't art, it just has to sell. I don't really agree, but for shock value this is great, even if it is tacky and sloppy.
