The movie starts out fairly solid but delves into mediocrity quickly. There are bits and pieces of interesting ideas but are never followed up or forgotten about entirely. A few good performances can't keep this movie afloat mainly due to the choppy editing or lack of story.
The original films this movie attempts to build upon leave behind the lore and history and replaced with jump-scares and predictability.
