Review of The Gamers: Dorkness Rising (2008) by Long L — 03 Jan 2010
Lacking the level of nerdiness the first movie brought us, this movie focuses on a big problem GM's (DM's) have with their players: Separating player knowledge from character knowledge. Meta-gaming has always bugged me, and I'm kinda glad there's a geeky movie that draws your attention to it.
Sure, it's a lower budget type movie, but that's what makes it fun to watch... like seeing something that a college crew can do and yet doing a decent job of it. But, like the first movie, you have to be a gamer to truly appreciate it.
