Review of The Gamers: Dorkness Rising (2008) by Lee B — 16 Oct 2010
Okay so if you aren't overwhelmed by the utter geekyness of the film and understand many of the closet references such as to Final Fantasy, D&D, and Ninja Burger, you will love this film. "Dorkness Rising" though comes off more as a TV pilot on G4 with really, really, bad special effects, but if you keep this in mind it is a goofy film.
The camerawork isn't the prettiest but it does get the job done, despite its obvious low budget. I'd probably be especially leery of this film if you don't like bards dying and discriminate gamemasters who insist on 'non-asian' monks, but if you do like this or play an amazing amount of Warcrack, this film is for you.
