Review of The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse (1962) by Ashley H — 14 Sep 2008
Vincente minnelli is one of the great directors of classic hollywood that seems to be washed away by time. a few of his musicals and comedies might have survived, but I cannot imagine why THE FOUR HORSEMEN OF THE APOCALYPSE, arguably one of his greatest achievements, isn't ranked among the classics of the hollywood war epic.
a little kitschy at times, this is nevertheless a fabulous piece of larger-than-life melodrama, and a true work of art.
