Review of The Fountain (2006) by Jeffrey R — 05 Sep 2013
I believe "The Fountain" to be one of the best films ever made, and a utopian marriage between art and intelligence.
I've never seen a movie where all of its aspects work in PERFECT equilibrium. The music is heartwarming, tear-jerking, melancholic and even spiritual. The writing is thought provoking, emotionally profound and rhythmic. The lighting: pure luminary perfection. The visual effects: mind-bending. The art work: visually appetizing. The cinematography: symmetrical, intricate and precise. Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz deliver emotional performances that they'll never best.
"The Fountain" keeps tugging at your coat, asking you to accept one thing: your death.
So...do you?
